GEETAN

You can say that again

Dr. Hwang Woo Su, a South Korean scientist whose research on stem cells and cloning won him international acclaim, resigned in disgrace.

He admitted to fabricating his groundbreaking paper in which he claimed to have cloned a dog. Surprisingly, there were no headlines saying:-

POPE SHOCKED AT ADMISSION THAT KOREAN MAN ADMITS TO NOT DOING DOGGY DOGGY

Dr Hwang Woo Su apologised to the ‘South Korean people for creating an unspeakable shock and disappointment.'

To soften the blow he added, ‘technology for patient-specific embryonic stem cells belongs to South Korea,’ which, for a scientist is a bit like singing ‘My Heart Belongs To Daddy.’

It is rumoured that Hollywood is interested in making a film based on the scandal.

George 'Cloney' ( hahahahahahahaha ) has been picked as ideal for the male role.

.......sorry about that

The reading list of George Bush has been revealed.

One of the books is Imperial Grunts: The American Military on the Ground - an account of the daily lives of US soldiers.

For one I don't believe it, and two I bet he thought it was a book on pig farming.

Wit Dickington.....

You may remember, I said I was going to London for the launch of Noise Market, the magazine that is publishing some of my stuff.

There was a bit in it when Frodo, the Hobbit in possession of the ring is injured.

He is healed by the Elves

rumours of an unsavoury saviour?

Actually

Now I think of it, in His time, Jesus was all of the following:

An agitator, an enemy of the state, homeless, a bit of a loner (well for forty days and nights in the desert anyway) a refugee, and he hung around with an alleged prostitute.

I blame the Parent myself....

murder most foul

Arnold Schwarzenegger's support for the death penalty in California, has led to his hometown of Graz, in Austria removing his name from a football stadium.

Schwarzenegger refused to extend clemency in the case of Stanley "Tookie" Williams, a former Los Angeles gang leader executed for murder earlier this month. Many people are of the opinion that Tookie had well and truly reformed, so much so that he was actually nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. Then again, so was Henry Kissinger and he was responsible for the death of thousands of Vietnamese civilians. As much as I feel that I would personally shoot anyone who took the life of a member of my family or a loved one, state sanctioned murder is still murder, and too many innocent people die as a result. I don't know if Tookie was innocent or not, but I do know that the States which allow executions are guilty of killing people who were wrongly convicted.
Arnold either doesn't know this or doesn't care.

He will be coming up for re-election though, and so he wouldn't want to rock the boat by making a politically damaging decision and extending clemency to anybody if it would go against his ambition. That is the nature of the political beast.

Mr Schwarzenegger sent a letter to Mayor Siegfried Nagl, saying he wished to spare the city's politicians "further concern" by withdrawing their right to use his name for the stadium.

He also said he would be returning the "ring of honour" the city awarded him in 1999.

Not quite the same as giving them the finger but pretty close

I seem to remember the tale of a man who, if the story is to believed was innocent when put on trial for his life.

The state still executed him though.

What was his name?

Jesus something or the other....
